The Mira Mesa Hihg School Athletics Department joins the rest of the San Diego High School sports communinty in mourning the loss of CIF SDS Commisoner Joe Heinz. Every school in San Diego felt Joe had a special relationship with their school. Mira Mesa is no different. We have hosted many CIF Championship events because of his beleif that we had the facilities and personal to handle their biggest events. Joe was the biggest proponement of Educationally Based Athletics and his loss will be felt for years to come.

Our sincerest condolences go out to his wife, his two daugheters and the entire Heinz family.
